Pesto Marinara Sauce


Mmm, tomatoes and basil, nothing quite like it.

1. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. heat 3 cloves minced garlic in the oil. 
2. if using, add chopped onion, olives, peppers, and mushrooms. 
3. add a can of tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes. then add a handful of fresh chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, salt, pepper, and toasted crumbled pine nuts. 
4. simmer, taste, adjust garlic/salt/pepper to preference.
5. put on pasta, or anything, serve with parmesan

PAIR WITH: italian red of course, try Sangiovese. Something dry.
